Play Imaginative Vs Hot Toys At Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention 2013

Yours truly had a chance to visit this year's Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention held last August 31- September 1, 2013.The convention basically brings together the best from the worlds of toys, games, comics, anime, manga and collectibles. STGCC brought in a lot of adult collectible toy companies but what really caught my eye is the Iron Man display from Play Imaginative and Hot Toys that will keep fans drooling for more.
Hot Toys' Iron Man area is set up into 3 parts, 1 main booth together with other Hot Toys figures (kind of a rehash from last year's event), a huge Iron Man 3 Hall Of Armor and a receiving booth to collect the purchased event exclusive, 1/6th scale IM3 Midas (Mark XXI). These booths are in collaboration with Singapore's adult toy store, Action City. One of the impressive displays is this Iron Man Mark III hologram. But size doesn't really equate to the "wow" factor.

Most impressive are from the guys from Play Imaginative with their 1/4 - 1/6 - 1/12 Iron Man displays. If I remember correctly, there are over 42 versions of the Super Alloy Iron Man armors, more diverse that Hot Toys. The company is also encouraging patrons to vote for their favorite Iron Man, this will help Play Imaginative to produce the next die-cast Iron Man suit.

On a side note, Play Imaginative also have set up displays for their New 52 DC Super Alloy collection introducing Green Latern, The Flash, and Cyborg. Yes it was a battle of the armors between Hot Toys and Play Imaginative. I would give Play Imagination the awesome diverse Iron Man display and that wow factor and Hot Toys with the booth display. As a collector, I'm more inclined to what Play Imagination had offered, probably because how great the die-cast figures were with those car-like paint application finish.
